Mariners Church Historic Doors Restoration

GPH Services recently completed restoration on several exterior doors for Detroit’s historic Mariners Church. Over many decades, the door finishes suffered greatly from extreme weather and exposure to downtown traffic and riverfront moisture.

We removed and restored original brass hardware, replacing parts where possible and crafting new replacements when necessary. Wooden elements were repaired and durable finishes were applied. The doors are now restored to perfect working order and will provide many more years of service.

The last two images show the extreme weathering of an exterior finish that has not yet been restored.
